Varun is a food scientist and an agri-food professional from New Zealand. Varun is an experienced professional with his past experience spanning across scientific research, primary industries, strategic planning and innovation. Varun ha always remained passionate about evolving technologies and food production that can meet rising food demands, diversity in consumer needs and achive these sustainably. Varun co-founded SeaSpire to enable a consumer shift to seafood alternatives and have a mission to reduce the stress on our oceans for proteins. Company Bio: SeaSpire, an alternative seafood startup from India and New Zealand is developing platform technologies to produce whole-cut plant-based and hybrid seafood alternative products. As Asia Pacific is one of the largest seafood consuming regions, a switch or complementary addition of seafood alternatives is imperative to meet consumer demands. The segment still needs significant technology advancement to meet product parity, price parity and consumer acceptance. Which is our mission to enable technologies for this segment.
