The ProVeg Incubator is the world’s first and leading accelerator programme for food-tech startups working in the alternative-protein space. We work with pioneering founders from around the world to transform our food systems and build a fairer, healthier, and more resilient future for all.
We support startups that are working on new products, ingredients or technologies that can help to accelerate this transition at scale. Our unique impact focus and reinvestment model supports ProVeg’s global mission of replacing 50% of animal-based products with plant-based and cultivated foods by 2040.
Over the past five years, we’ve supported more than 100 startups, some of whom are pioneers in the space. Think Remilk, Formo, Infinite Roots, Better Nature Tempeh, Omni, Cultivated Biosciences, and many more.
We run our global accelerator programme from our Berlin HQ. Our startups benefit from a tailor-made 20-week programme, up to $300,000 in funding and in-kind services, and coaching from our 100+ strong pool of expert mentors. In addition to our own team, and the support of our parent organisation ProVeg International, the strength of the ProVeg Incubator is bolstered by a unique and extensive network of industry and investment partners.
The ProVeg Incubator Demo Day marks the culmination of our 20-week programme, in which the startups have been learning everything they need to know to launch and grow their businesses, from some of the biggest names in the business.
This year is truly special as we are collaborating with the New Food Conference as part of their inspiring programme of disruptive protein technology and sustainable food solutions. As Europe’s first and biggest conference on new protein solutions, this industry-oriented event aims to accelerate and empower these innovative food technologies by bringing together key stakeholders.
This event will be held at the beautiful riverside location of Spreespeicher in Berlin and we’d love you to join us, either in person, or online!
Join us for this unique opportunity to learn about the latest cutting-edge technology, engage with founders from our global network, and connect with investors, corporates, and other industry professionals.
COHORT 12:
Our 12th cohort features five startups developing game-changing products, ingredients and technologies, and each of them will pitch at Demo Day. They are...
Founders Doug Grant and Trevor Ham, established Atlantic Fish Co in 2022 to develop cultivated seafood with a focus on wild-caught marine white fish such as sea bass, snapper, flounder, and grouper. In April 2024, they unveiled the “world’s first” cultivated black sea bass.
Founder Aaron Chua Yu Xiang is a biotechnologist by training and worked in the cultivated industry for three years. Inspired by this, he established Fisheroo to develop enabling technologies for manufacturing companies to cultivate meat and seafood from cells in a more efficient and economical way.
Founders Zane Starkewolfe, Cody Yothers, Minami Ogawa, Maja Segerman Nielsen, and Lynn Hanson, have developed a proprietary platform for mycelium-based ingredient encapsulation and stabilisation. This allows them to tune the texture, taste, and nutritional value of alternative protein products by encapsulating fats, flavours and nutrients.
Omar Zaghloul and Mohamed Almoatasem founded AlProtein to develop protein ingredients using microalgae and water lentils, for use by plant-based meat and cheese manufacturers. Their AI-powered biomanufacturing technology produces high-quality proteins at scale, replacing synthetic additives and binders, without using any fresh water or arable land.
Founders Joshua Errett, Jonny Cruz and Dr Sarah Dodd are developing a new generation of pet food using yeast and cultivated ingredients. With a strong emphasis on nutrition, the products are designed to meet the protein requirements for both cats and dogs, containing essential amino acids and other benefits.
